Delaying his drive-in by a week because of the snow meant new Captain, Eric Legg had a nervous
wait to see if he could hit three balls on to the 18th green and his delight was obvious when he achieved the feat in front
of a large crowd of people. During his speech he paid tribute to last year's Captain Joe Gillen and looked forward to
2010 and was hopeful of doing as well as Joe in filling the trophy cabinet.
He
looked forward to working with his Vice-Captain during 2010 as he and Bob are great friends and always support
each other. Most importantly of all he told members present that the £500 raised for charity during his drive-in was
a great start but he would be looking for as much money from members as possible to help his two charities - the Sunflower
Trust and the Guernsey Sports for the Disabled'.
