Foyer and Stairs Decoration

Members may have already seen the fantastic work being done to decorate and modernise the foyer and stairs area of the Clubhouse

27/02/2026

This work is being done to compliment the upgrade of the bar area a few years ago. Whilst this work has come at a cost, it is a cost that in relative terms is minimal to the membership and a fraction of the £18,000 quote that was initially sought. How can this be, well it is simply down to the generosity of members with a trade who have given up much of their time to complete the project. President Bill Le Huray and Committee member Alan Le Noury who carry responsibility for ‘’House’ have overseen the improvements that could not have been a success without the skills of several members. Phil Rowe and Chris Allen helped to put the new ceiling up, Phil Miles fitted the new lights, wiring and fittings, supplied free by Paul Hamon of Yesss Electric and the hard graft of painting is down to Rab Wood. It is hoped that finishing touches will be complete in the coming weeks and the area enjoyed by new and old members alike.

Members Trade Directory

We’re excited to begin putting together an LGC Trade Directory to showcase the skills and services offered by our members.

27/02/2026

This directory will be shared with the wider membership and featured on the Club website. It’s a great way to support one another and make it easier for members to find trusted tradespeople within the Club community. If you’d like to be included, simply email lancressegolf@gmail.com with your details or drop in details to the Office. Feel free to attach any artwork or a business card so we can present your profile clearly and you may want to include any member to member incentives you’d like to offer.

Car Park Flood

Recent wet weather flooded the car park

27/02/2026

Its not only the course that has shown evidence of one of the wettest winters on record, but at times the LGC car park has been flooded with levels a few inches away from the top step of the foyer entrance. This is primarily down to a drainpipe to a soakaway that is too small to cope with the volume of rain that has fell. For assurance that there are no deeper drainage issues, a drain survey will be carried out and whilst the expense of relaying a larger pipe is too costly, contingency plans will be in place to prevent the clubhouse from flooding in the week, months and years to come.

Captains Drive-in 2026

2026 Club Captain Chris Le Tissier Drives-in

11/01/2026

On a chilly January day, Captain Chris took to the 18th tee box accompanied by Club President Bill Le Huray and Vice Captain Colin Lickley. Playing into the cold stiff northerly breeze, Chris's first two shots missed the green, but changing down to a six-iron seemed to work as the green was found on his final shot. Prizewinners were John 'Lil' le Noury, Pete Blampied and Graham Sebire. Another winner was the Captains Charity, The Guernsey Voluntary Service as £850 was raised for this worthy cause. More information on the GVS can been found here. Captain's Charity Information

How Didi-I-Do App

The new HowDidiDo app has been completely rebuilt and launches this month. But it will now come at a small price.

11/01/2026

Unveiling the new HowDidiDo late last year, the company revealed the app has been “rebuilt from the ground up to give golfers a smoother, smarter, and more connected experience than before”. The redeveloped app will quickly replace the current HowDidiDo app, with the ClubV1 Members Hub “discontinued eventually”. While LCG Members who would like to use the app will pay to access the new app, the website will remain free to use. Members who download the new app will need to re-register, but all scores – going back to 2010 – will be migrated. Attached is a useful 2 minute video link should you need more information.
